Police seek public help to locate missing Windhoek teen

The police are seeking public assistance in locating a 19-year-old who was reported missing on 14 August in Windhoek’s Hakahana location.

Rachel Alberts reportedly left home with a male friend from Omulunga Street in Hakahana and has not been located since.

National police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, in a missing person report, describes Alberts as a Nyemba-speaking teenager of slender build, with a yellow complexion, tall stature and black hair.

“It is alleged that the missing person is a person with a disability. It is alleged that family members tried to contact her on her mobile phone, which she answered and hung up,” Shikwambi says.

The police say further attempts by the family to contact and trace her have been unsuccessful.

The police are urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact her father, Mako Kahyata, on 081 477 4747, detective inspector Sinvula Sinvula on 081 369 1869, or the nearest police station.
