OGOPA Butterfly’s he-said-she-said battle finally came to an end with Sula Kyababa and Lucas Bikedo going their separate ways.Bikedo and Kyababa reached a resolution on 10 August where the two parties, amongst other agreements, decided to end their business relationship.
According to a document in The Namibian’s possession, the resolution was reached at the commercial fraud investigation sub-division in the presence of the police.
Bikedo and his wife, Sarah Lenemiris, ceased their membership in Ogopa Butterfly CC, leaving Kyababa and Daphne Willbard as the remaining members. The split comes after a very public disagreement between Bikedo and Kyababa that went as far as the two parties accusing each other of theft and dishonesty in local media.
Kyababa had accused Bikedo of acting fraudulently when his wife Lenemiris purchased a vehicle without consent. Lenemiris was working in administration for Ogopa Butterfly at the time. Bikedo in return accused Kyababa of being dishonest and defaulting in salary payments.
In the resolution, Bikedo and his wife agreed to return the vehicle they once disputed to have purchased fraudulently. They also agreed that songstress Chikune’s N$100 000 Namibia Annual Music Awards winnings for the female artist of the year award will be split in half, with N$50 000 going to Bikedo and the other N$50 000 going to the label Ogopa Butterfly.
The N$100 000 can however only be shared once the court has decided whether the money will go to Chikune or Ogopa Butterfly, which she was formerly signed to.
The parties also agreed for the case of fraud against Bikedo and Lenemiris be withdrawn.
Kyababa said that he would not like to comment on the matter as it has been resolved amicably with both parties being happy with the resolution reached.
Bikedo could not be reached for comment.
