A chief inspector of education at the Omusati region’s directorate of education has been arrested on a charge of culpable homicide.
Omusati police commander commissioner Ismael Basson confirmed the incident on Monday.
Basson said the official, who is yet to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court, allegedly ran over a pedestrian on Saturday night along the Tsandi–Outapi road.
“He is charged with culpable homicide and drunk driving. The victim died,” Basson said.
