Man kills attacker after being stabbed in head, buttocks

A man (32) from Omuthiya was arrested for murder after he allegedly fatally smashed the head of another man (46) against a wall after being stabbed in the head and buttocks.

National police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi in the weekend crime report said the incident took place at an open market at Omuthiya on Friday.

“It is alleged that the deceased was chasing the suspect with a traditional dagger in his hand and stabbed the suspect from behind in the buttocks and head.

“It is further alleged that while being pursued, the suspect turned around, grabbed the deceased, and hit his head against the wall of the market,” she said.

The deceased, who has been identified as Andreas Lukas, later died upon arrival at Omuthiya District Hospital.

Shikwambi said Lukas allegedly grabbed the dagger from an elderly man who was selling knives at the Omuthiya open market before the incident.

“A 32-year-old male is arrested, and he is expected to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Police investigations continue,” she said.

Shikwambi said Lukas’ next of kin were informed, and police investigations continue.
