A woman with an intellectual disability was allegedly raped and assaulted between Friday and Saturday while walking home.
The incident happened between the Oshimangwashongete and Eendombedhiingula villages in the Omuthiya constituency of the Oshikoto region.
According to a police report, the victim, a 25-year-old Namibian woman whom the police describe as having an intellectual disability, was reportedly approached by a man who allegedly had sexual intercourse with her and assaulted her.
“It is alleged that the suspect is known, no arrest was made,” the police say.
Investigations into the matter continue.
