The police have recorded deaths at Oshakati, Ondambombali, Uis and Windhoek over the weekend.
The deaths were recorded as inquests between Friday and Saturday, according to a police report released on Sunday.
In one incident, the police are investigating the death of a man (39) who was found dead inside a house he was renting at Hochland Park.
His body was allegedly discovered on Saturday morning at about 10h53 by his employee who drove to the residence after the deceased allegedly failed to answer his phone.
“It is alleged that the house was locked and had to be opened by a caretaker. It is further alleged that the victim’s body was found with an open facial wound, blood on the floor, bed, and bathroom, and three bottles of alcohol and medication,” the report says.
Shikwambi says the man’s next of kin have been informed, and police investigations continue.
Meanwhile, a toddler (2) was found dead in a room at Oshoopala at Oshakati on Friday at about 17h00.
National police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shiwambi says the toddler, who reportedly had a disability, was found dead in a room by her father.
Shikwambi says her next of kin were informed and police investigations are continuing.
At Ondambombali village in the Okatana constituency, a man (39) died at his home on Saturday at about 09h00.
The police say the man had a medical condition and no foul play is suspected.
His next of kin were informed and investigations are continuing.
In another incident, a pensioner (62) was found dead on the floor of a house at Otujapi village at Uis on Friday between 23h00 and 00h00.
“It is alleged that the victim suffered from a medical condition, no foul play was suspected, her next of kin was informed, and police investigation continues,” Shikwambi says.
