One Economy launches youth sexual reproductive health website

The One Economy Foundation has launched the iBreakFree sexual and reproductive health (SRH) web application to improve young people’s access to health information, self-screening tools and referrals to healthcare services.

In a statement issued on Thursday, spokesperson Paulina Moses says the platform was developed under the iBreakFree Project with funding from the Global Fund through the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

“The iBreakFree SRH web application makes it easier for young people to access the help they need, when they need it,” Moses says.

She says the application provides young people with access to information on HIV-AIDS prevention, family planning, mental health, sexually transmitted infections and sexual and gender-based violence.

She says the platform also offers private self-screening tools for HIV, sexually transmitted infections and gender-based violence, with referrals to appropriate healthcare services and access to online support.

According to the spokesperson, the foundation has established two SRH digital hubs at the Eenhana Multi-Purpose Youth Centre in the Ohangwena region and the Outapi Multi-Purpose Youth Centre in the Omusati region to improve access for young people without internet or smart devices.

She encourages young people aged 13 to 35 to use the platform as a trusted source for sexual and reproductive health information and support.
