Okahandja Children Receive School Uniforms From Good Samaritan

t was a happy day for some pupils of the Green Leaves Primary School at Okahandja last week as they received a surprise visit from a good Samaritan.

Diana Onesmus came with gifts in the form of school uniforms to keep them warm and looking like the rest of the pupils during this winter period.

Onesmus has always believed that giving is a blessing, and if God blesses her, she should extend the blessing to others. “There are so many homeless and poor children. Even if they attend school, they feel left out. They don’t have uniforms because sadly, they can’t afford it. When they have uniforms, they get a sense of belonging and pride, which in turn helps improve their marks. What better way is there to help them during winter time?” she said.

Onesmus says she read an article about a boy in the south who was crying because he was cold and didn’t have shoes, which motivated her to help children during the cold months.

“My bank account may be empty now, but my heart is pleased for I pleased God. If we all choose even one pupil and sponsor them a uniform, we will make Namibia a beautiful nation. Shops like Pep even have low prices for uniforms,” Onesmus said.

She chose the school after she had a conversation with a teacher who told her how underprivileged the children there are. It prompted her to buy the uniforms.

Onesmus said she will continue with the gesture that will make at least a few children smile and help them stay warm.
