International relations and cooperation minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has urged her technical teams to ensure the implementation of signed legal frameworks between Russia and Namibia.
Nandi-Ndaitwah was speaking during a meeting with Russian deputy prime minister Yury Trutnev in Windhoek on Friday.
“I wish to implore that implementation of signed legal frameworks should start. And where execution of the agreements and memoranda of understanding has commenced, it should be consistent,” Nandi-Ndaitwah said.
She added that Trutnev’s visit to Namibia is a demonstration of his commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations and cooperation between Namibia and Russia.
According to Nandi-Ndaitwah, bilateral cooperation between the two countries continues to be strengthened and broadened through the signing of and implementation of a variety of legal instruments. These instruments range from those dealing with education, particularly higher education, trade, mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, to those relating to partnership cooperation between cities, Nandi-Ndaitwah said.
“Our meeting today is a demonstration of the political will of the two countries to continue our bilateral cooperation for the full benefit of our people,” she added.
