The Namibia Revenue Agency (Nam) collected N$17.09 billion in net revenue during the first quarter of the 2026/27 financial year, reaching 20.7% of its annual revenue target of N$82.60 billion.
Figures released by the revenue agency show that by 30 June, Namra had collected N$19.52 billion in gross revenue. After processing N$2.42 billion in tax refunds, net revenue collections stood at N$17.09 billion.
“NamRA collected a net amount of N$17 09 billion, which equates to 20.7% of the total revenue target of N$82.6 billion for FY2026/27,” the agency says.
Domestic taxes were the government’s largest source of revenue during the quarter, contributing N$10.30 billion, or about 60% of total net collections. Customs and excise accounted for the remaining N$6.79 billion, representing roughly 40% of revenue collected.
Value-added tax (VAT) generated N$5.77 billion for the fiscus, equivalent to 33.8% of total net revenue.
Revenue received through the Southern African Customs Union amounted to N$4.51 billion, contributing 26.4% of total collections, while personal income tax generated N$4.39 billion, accounting for 25.7%.
Corporate income tax added N$1.60 billion, representing 9.4% of total net revenue, while other tax categories contributed a combined N$825.34 million, or 4.8%.
The first-quarter collections place Namra just over one-fifth of the way towards achieving its N$82.60 billion revenue target for the 2026/27 financial year, with three quarters of the fiscal year remaining.
