Black Africa go top after beating Tura Magic

Black Africa went to the top of the Namibia Premier League log after beating Tura Magic 2-0 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday night.

Two fine solo goals by Bryan Bantam and Marco van Wyk put them at the top of the log on 22 points, one ahead of Tigers who play Rundu Chiefs on Saturday.

In a high-tempo match, both sides played attacking soccer, attacked from the start, with strong tackles going in on both sides.

BA had an early penalty appeal turned down when Klaas Blom went down in the box but their early pressure told when Bantam opened their account with a great solo goal on 15m after receiving the ball in space and sending in a curling shot that went into the corner of the net.

Tura Magic came back strongly and Peter Shalulile soon found the net but the goal was disallowed for a foul.

Neville Tjueza shot wide after a fine cross by Junias Theophelus, while Papi Kavezembi narrowly missed a Tjiueza cross with an open goal gaping.

BA threatened early in the second half when Bryan Bantam broke through on goal, but Magic’s keeper Collin Ndjai just managed to clear the ball.

Marco Van Wyk stretched BA’s lead to 2-0 on 64m when he received the ball outside the penalty area and caught Ndjai flatfooted with a great shot that hit the roof of the net.

BA substitute striker Roger Katjiteo came close with a scorching shot that was tipped for a corner, while at the other end, Tjiueza also had a cracker tipped over by Ephraim Tjihonge.
