Landless People’s Movement (LPM) senior member Vendjihimisa Kandetu, known as Vendjii, has confirmed her resignation from the party.
She says the decision followed careful reflection and marks the end of one chapter of her political journey.
Kandetu confirmed her resignation to The Namibian on Wednesday, saying she is stepping down as an LPM member, a member of the party’s central committee and a gazetted parliamentary candidate with immediate effect.
“It has been an honour to serve the party, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to its mission,” she said.
She believes she has outgrown her current journey and that the time has come for a new season of service.
While declining to reveal her next political move, she stressed that she remains committed to serving the people of Namibia.
“The future will speak for itself,” she said.
In her resignation letter directed to the party, Kandetu says the decision was made with sincerity and respect for the party, its leadership and members.
She adds that her personal convictions, professional aspirations and future direction now require her to end her association with the movement.
Kandetu joined LPM in 2020 and served in several roles, including as a member of the youth command element and central committee and as a parliamentary researcher and administrative support officer at the party’s head office between April 2024 and January 2026.
She also represented the party in the programme for young politicians in Africa in South Africa.
