Despite TransNamib Holdings investigating its property manager, Alynsia Platt, the company has brought the manager back to perform her duties.
Platt was discharged from her position in early July before her swift reinstatement pending the investigation.
This has raised questions among employees.
TransNamib executive officer Desmond van Jaarsveld in a notice on 2 July confirmed the appointment of an acting property manager to replace Platt.
“Be it hereby known that I, Desmond van Jaarsveld, in my capacity as executive officer of TransNamib, hereby delegate David Daniel, an employee of TransNamib, in addition to his current functional mandate as property manager, the powers and authority to act as property executive and to perform generally the administrative functions pertaining to the position as effective from 2 July 2025 until further notice,” the notice reads.
Platt was, however, allegedly reinstated two weeks later. The company has declined to comment on the reasons for her suspension or the decision to bring her back so soon, citing the ongoing internal probe.
“TransNamib is not in a position to comment on the matter at this stage as investigations are currently underway. Once that is finalised, then we will comment,” company spokesperson Kendall Swartz says.
Meanwhile, Platt has declined to comment on the matter.
“I am unfortunately unable to answer any of your questions as it is an internal matter.
“I believe you have been in contact with the CEO. Should he have responded to your questions, please provide the same and advise where you need me to clarify,” she says.
