DS Football Academy (DSFA) today announced that Namibian u15 international football player Tiago Schmidt has signed for Joburg City in South Africa.
“Tiago will continue his football development in the Gauteng Development League (GDL), taking another important step on his journey as a young footballer,” DSFA said in a press release.
“His move represents the core philosophy of DSFA, developing, exposing and preparing young Namibian players for opportunities beyond our borders.
Tiago has been part of the DSFA development pathway and has progressed to representing Namibia at u15 international level. His move to Joburg City is a proud moment for the player, his family and the entire DSFA family,” it added.
Tiago’s father Dokkies Schmidt, who is also the founder and technical director of DSFA said:
“This is what development is all about. We are not only developing players for today; we are preparing them for tomorrow. Tiago has earned this opportunity through his hard work, discipline and commitment. We are extremely proud of him and look forward to seeing him grow in this new environment.”
