Secure homes before long weekend departure, police caution

The Namibian Police have cautioned travellers during the Easter long weekend to make sure they secure their homes before leaving to various destinations.

The police have also urged travellers to inform trusted neighbours or relatives so they can keep watch on properties while away.

“Ensure that your vehicle is roadworthy, check that brakes, tyres, lights and indicators are in proper working condition. Obey all traffic rules and regulations at all times. Avoid overloading both passengers and goods,” the police advise.

“Do not drink and drive. Always wear your seat belts and ensure that passengers do the same. Be cautious and considerate to other road users, including pedestrians and cyclists,” the police say.
