THE Ongwediva annual trade fair (OATF) has recorded a visitors’ decline this year due to the ongoing economic woes.
Despite the 1,5% increase of exhibitors from last year, the northern trade show recorded a visitors’ decline from 84 858 last year to only 75 000 visitors this year.
This was revealed by the OATF preparatory committee chairperson, Damien Egumbo, during a press conference at Ongwediva today.
“Exhibitions from home-based businesses, education and training, agriculture, fisheries, automotive, clothing and textile, public sector institutions, ICT and energy, were among the top most frequented exhibition stands […] We value the participation of the young and old exhibitors in the SME tent that created a dedicated category for the best exhibit of traditional products,” he said.
