Education and youth project development organisation, Apodissi in partnership with Youth4Can, has launched a virtual exchange project aimed at empowering the youth through digital learning and systems thinking.
The Synapse project of the European Union (EU), and co-funded under the Erasmus+ programme, seeks to equip more than 2 500 young people, including women, youth from rural communities, and those living with disabilities with skills.
The three-year project aims to equip participants with critical skills in leadership, innovation, and systems thinking, preparing them to drive meaningful change within their communities and beyond.
It brings together institutions and organisations from Italy, Spain, Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, Ethiopia and Malawi.
Apodissi managing director Margherita Trestini in a statement issued on Friday said Synapse will strengthen collaboration between African and European youth through virtual exchanges, while promoting innovation, inclusion and youth participation in sustainable development initiatives.
“The project commenced with a two-day virtual kick-off meeting held in March, bringing together partners from Italy, Spain, Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, Ethiopia, and Malawi,”.
“We believe in connecting the dots because every young person, regardless of their background or ability, is a vital part of the bigger picture,” she said.
She said the organisation is committed to building an inclusive platform where young Namibians can engage, learn, and collaborate globally.
Apodissi was established in Namibia in 2022, specialising in education, vocational training, digital transformation, and international cooperation. It designs and implements EU-funded initiatives, including Erasmus+ and capacity-building programmes, focusing on youth empowerment, smart agriculture, sustainability, digital skills, entrepreneurship, and smart logistics.
