A group of young innovators have launched a new digital platform aimed at improving the country’s logistics sector.
Called Londeka, the platform connects trucks with available loads, addressing inefficiencies in the transport industry.
According to founder Marthin Shigwedha, the platform was developed to position Namibia as a competitive player in the logistics industry.
He says the platform is a solution to the problem of trucks travelling long distances empty, a common issue in Namibia’s freight sector.
By allowing truck drivers to receive packages and parcels for delivery through an online system, the platform aims to optimise routes and increase profitability.
“It is imperative that we as young people create avenues that will contribute to the growth of our country. Londeka was created to be a visionary that will lead Namibia into the global space,” Shigwedha says.
Operations lead Mignon Nekuta says the platform has the potential to impact trade and transportation globally.
“Londeka is more than just a logistics platform; it is a statement that young Namibians are ready to build solutions that drive our economy forward.
By connecting businesses, communities, and drivers, we are creating an environment that supports growth, trade, and opportunity for all.”
