New shops galore in Wernhil extension

THE third phase of construction at the Wernhil Park Shopping Mall in Windhoek is on schedule and progressing well, Ohlthaver and List has said.

According to a media statement issued by the company on Tuesday, the construction at the southern mall extension is nearing completion, with the northern mall extension’s completion date set for the end of June 2011.’Several major retailers have received their shops for fit-out and some tenants, such as Mr Price Home and Foschini, have already started trading at their new locations situated in the southern mall. All other major tenants trading in the southern mall, located next to our upper parking area, which include Mr Price Sport and Truworths, will be open for trading as from June 1,’ the statement said.Upon completion, Wernhil Park Shopping Mall will boast some new and exciting shops, some of which, such as Mr Price Sport, will be a first for Namibia.’The new and highly anticipated Edgars Store, opening on June 1, will be one of the largest retailers yet to open its doors in the country and is sure to dazzle clients,’ O&L said.Furthermore, Wernhil will add approximately 750 parking bays as part of its extension, increasing the total parking bays to approximately 1 500.Other shops that will open in the new extension to the mall include Total Sports, Milady’s, Sterns, Fashion Express and a new restaurant, amongst many others.’We also look forward to the new taxi rank facility, which is due to be completed by the end of April 2011. The taxi rank facility will be completely redesigned to ensure a more efficient traffic flow to enable more taxi vehicles to pass through the facility at a faster rate,’ the company stated. – Nampa
