Namibia Dairies supports Ramblers Football Academy

RAMBLERS Football Academy has received a two-year cash sponsorship of N$300 000 from Namibia Dairies.

According to the sponsorship contract, which was announced at the Ramblers Football Club House in Pionierspark on Tuesday, the football academy will receive equal instalments of N$150 000 for the next two financial years.The sponsorship money will be used to organise football tournaments for young people in Windhoek, Otjiwarongo and Swakopmund.The football academy only caters for players under the age of 17 years.Speaking at the occasion, Ramblers Football Club (FC) chairman Ralf Behrens said the football academy currently has a total of 150 young players that are registered.’The age groups of players range from Under-seven to Under-17,’ explained Behrens.He said the first tournament for the Under-seven to Under-nine age groups is scheduled to take place on 16 April in the capital city at a venue yet to be announced.Behrens added that Ramblers FC are extremely grateful and honoured to have secured Namibia Dairies as a smart strategic partner.Ramblers FC was established in 1945, and is one of only two clubs in the Premier League that have established football academies.The only other local football club to have established a similar structure is Cymot Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW).Namibia Dairies’ Managing Director, Hubertus Hamm said the two-year sponsorship is aimed at developing and growing young Namibians’ football talent.’We are proud to join hands with the Ramblers Football Academy to enable young kids to build their football skills, and grow the people’s game further at youth level,’ stressed Hamm.He said the objective of the academy fits perfectly with Namibia Dairies’ sponsorship strategy, adding that hopefully the sponsorship will be the start of greater things to come. – Nampa
