NAMIBIA recorded their second successive victory in the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 after beating Argentina by 178 runs at the United field Sunday.
Namibia amassed a huge total of 344 for 6 wickets off their 50 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat. Namibia’s openers JB Burger and Raymond van Schoor put on 95 for the first wicket before Burger was out for a rapid 65 off only 46 balls, which included 7 fours and 3 sixes.Van Schoor was dismissed for 46 while Kola Burger hit one six before being dismissed for 8.Gerrie Snyman continued his great form by smashing 98 runs off only 74 balls.His innings included 3 fours and 6 sixes, one from which the ball disappeared and had to be replaced by a new ball.Snyman seemed to be heading for his century when he attempted another big hit and was caught on the boundary by Nino off Matias Paterlini’s bowling.Dawid Botha was run out for 22, while Namibian captain Bjorn Kotze was not out on 54 off 47 balls.Argentina’s best bowlers were Paterlini and Diego Lord who both had figures of 2/62 off 10
