Mobile Telecommunications Limited Namibia has announced the nominees for the 2026 MTC Content Creator Awards in 24 categories.
Each category has four nominees, with public voting having started yesterday.
The stakeholders have once again assured that voting will be much more secure this year and judges will not be part of the sponsors.
MTC spokesperson Erasmus Nekundi during the announcement in Windhoek on Saturday said although there have been growing challenges surrounding the event, they are striving for better this year.
“We’re trying to build a brand. When you have an incident like that, it reduces credibility, damages our reputation, and pulls us in completely the wrong direction,” he said.
Some of the nominees are not new to the platform, such as Thomas Amakli, known to the public as Tate Matondo, Jloss, and John Halainge.
The Namibian spoke to some who are new to the space, such as Tate Hallelujah, who was nominated into the content creator dance category.
“I took a risk into consistency and this platform has just shown we’re doing something right, so we’re going to keep going,’’ he says.
Loan Louw, who has been nominated in the emerging content creator of the year and hair and beauty category, says: “I really appreciate everyone’s support. Please vote for me, guys. The craft is not easy to maintain. Win or not, the recognition is what matters.’’
The main awards are set to take place in October with a content creator workshop before awards night.
All dates are yet to be announced on social media platforms and MTC’s website.
