City of Windhoek employees will have access to financial education and a range of banking services under a new agreement between the municipality and FNB Namibia.
The Workplace Banking Staffing Solutions Strategic Partnership, signed on Friday, includes financial literacy programmes, preferential home loan rates, personal loans, vehicle and asset finance, as well as debt consolidation services.
The agreement also gives employees access to savings, investment, insurance, fiduciary and digital banking solutions.
FNB Namibia head of public sector banking Bolle Hans says the partnership was intended to go beyond providing banking products.
“The signing of this agreement represents a shared commitment to the financial well-being, empowerment and long-term prosperity of the employees who serve the City of Windhoek and, ultimately, our communities every day,” he says.
Hans says financial education is important in helping employees manage their money and protecting their financial future.
“We believe financial empowerment starts with knowledge. While access to the right financial solutions is important, true financial well-being comes from understanding how to manage your money, make informed financial decisions and, importantly, protect your financial future,” he says.
City of Windhoek representative Metusalem Nikanor says the tailored financial services would benefit municipal employees.
“We look forward to the positive impact this partnership will have in supporting their financial well-being and helping them make more informed financial decisions,” he says.
The parties say the programmes will assist employees facing financial pressures such as rising living costs and multiple debt obligations.
Hans says FNB’s focus is not only on providing access to financial products.
“Our objective is not simply to provide banking products, but to equip employees with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions,” he says.
