Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy Natangue Ithete says there has been enough speeches and writing on green hydrogen – it’s time for real results.
Speaking at the Global Hydrogen Conference in Windhoek on Wednesday, Ithete said the green energy industry has the ability to make a real impact on livelihoods, and access to health services and education.
“We have spoken enough, we have written enough, now let us
transform our speeches into real results that our people can see and feel,” Ithete said.
He said the sector is a catalyst to breaking the cycle of exporting raw materials and import dependency.
“Our vision must be to process our minerals here in Namibia and Africa to power our homes and industries with our own renewable resources and build a new economy,” Ithete said.
Over 1 500 people from 75 countries are participating in the conference, which will run until 11 September.
