Namibia Air receives licenses for operations
…first flight scheduled for December
Namibia Air has received its Air Operating Licenses that are effective from 6 August and valid for five years.
The Transport Commission handed over the licences to the Minister Works and Transport Veikko Nekundi, and the Namibia Air Committee.
The licenses allows Namibia air to acquire the aircrafts with the first flight scheduled to take off in the first week of December.
Acting chairperson of the Namibia Air Jonas Sheelongo said the failure of Air Namibia has taught them on the mistakes not to be made again.
“We have learned a lot to make sure that we deliver and our airline does not fail,” said Sheelongo.
The next stage before the launch of the airline will be to acquire an Air Operator Certificate.
The process is in 5 stages and the ministry says it should be completed within 90 days
