Man dies in crash

One person died and another sustained serious injuries when a vehicle they were driving in rammed into the back of a stationary vehicle along Leonard Awala Street next to the Teachers Resource Centre in Katutura on Tuesday afternoon.

According to warrant officer Silas Shipandeni the 37-year-old driver of the vehicle, identified as Edward Jakob Ndinoshili Edward, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured passenger in his vehicle was identified as Silas Erastus.
Shipandeni said Edward, who was travelling in a driving school vehicle rammed into a car that had broken down along the road. The driver of the stationary car, who was identified as 42-year-old Tinashe Solimon Nyaguse, did not sustain any injuries.

Shipandeni added that Edward’s body was taken to the mortuary. His next of kin have been informed.
