Man arrested for possession of game meat at Rundu

A man (49) was arrested at Rundu in the Kavango East region on Tuesday, after he was allegedly found in possession of game meat without a permit.

The Angolan national, Mathias Kafulo, who is a resident of Shamampuku village in Angola, was arrested at about 10h00 at the Ndama location, Kavango East police head of crime investigations deputy commissioner Moses Simaho said on Wednesday.

“Kafula was found with 340 bundles of dried kudu and impala meat. The total value is N$5 250,” Simaho said.

Kafulo faces a charge of possession of game meat. Simaho said circumstances surrounding how Kafulo allegedly obtained the game meat are not known.

He said the investigation is continuing.
