Social League Opens ALL interested companies and are invited to enter the 2009 Social Football League. Companies may register more than one team. Entrance fee per team is N$2 500.

Matches will be played over the weekends from the beginning of February to the middle of October.

National Cricket Trials

THE Namibia Cricket Board (NCB) will hold trials for senior cricket players to pick a squad for participation in a last qualifying tournament before World Cup 2011. The trials will be held on January 17 and 18.
This tournament will take place in South Africa in April 2009 and the top 4 teams will qualify for the 2011 World Cup in Asia.
The selectors picked two teams that will play in two 50-over matches at the weekend. Both games will take place at the Wanderers. The trials will also serve as preparation for the MTC team to play against Northerns next week in Windhoek. The two matches against Northerns (a three-day match and a one-day match) are part of the SAA competition.

Under-19 Cricketers Called

THE Under-19 trials to pick a squad to represent Namibia this year will be held at the weekend. There will be a tournament where only the winner of the tournament will qualify for participating in the Under-19 World Cup. Ramblers Hold Trials

RAMBLERS Sports Club will hold under-20 football trials at its stadium on Friday.
The trials will be held from 14h00. The national team coach, Tom Saintfiet, will assist with the selection of the players for the Ramblers under-20 side. The team will also double as the Ramblers Reserve Team to the senior side in the Namibia Premier League (NPL). There is no automatic selection for the previous year’s under-17s.
