‘Katutura’ to screen at The Warehouse Theatre

After sold out screenings in Windhoek and Ongwediva in March, Tulinane Entertainment has set a venue and date for the next screening of local box office hit ‘Katutura’ on Friday, 15 April at 20h00 at the Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek.

Following its world premiere in 2015, screenings at Ster Kinekor Windhoek and Epic Cinemas Ongwediva as well as the township premiere in Katutura, the local feature film began its international run earlier this year.

With the help of German based film sales and distribution company Rushlake Media, ‘Katutura’ had its international premieres at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles and the AFI New African Film Festival in Washington DC.

In the coming months, ‘Katutura’ is scheduled to be screened at more festivals around the world.

Theatrical releases in selected markets are also set to follow before its release on BluRay, DVD and Video on Demand, for those who either miss its screenings, or those who wish to own a piece of one of the country’s biggest feature films to date.

‘Katutura’ follows a group characters experiencing the gravity of living in a township. Ex-convict Dangi has to deal with living a law-abiding life, an extramarital son and an old flame who his wife doesn’t know about. Gangster Shivago explores a new market to sell his drugs and Kondja, a teenager in a wheelchair who helps street kids, falls in love for the first time. Their paths intertwine and their lives collide in both hopeful and brutal ways.

Tickets to the screening cost N$50 at the Warehouse Theatre. Advance tickets are advisable as the screening is expected to sell out.
