Hosea Kutako, Walvis Bay airports certified for meeting standards

Hosea Kutako International Airport and Walvis Bay International Airport have been re-certified for meeting stringent safety, operational and technical standards.

Announced by the Namibia Airports Company (NAC), each of the airports received as 83% effective implementation score.

The aerodrome certificates were issued by the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority.

“Namibia’s two international gateways continue to meet and uphold the stringent safety, operational and technical requirements prescribed under the Namibia Civil Aviation Regulations,” reads the statement.

The certification also reflects alignment with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

The aerodrome certificates for both airports are valid until 6 December 2027.

NAC chief executive Bisey Uirab says the achievement is a significant milestone.

“This achievement reaffirms our dedication to upholding global aviation standards and supports Namibia’s vision of enabling economic development through safe and reliable air transport infrastructure,” says Uirab.
