TRANSNAMIB’S spokesperson, Ailly Hangula-Paulino, was allegedly assaulted by the parastatal’s acting chief executive officer, Eugenia Tjaronda, yesterday.
Upon enquiry, Hangula-Paulino last night confirmed the incident. ‘Unfortunately, I had an incident with the acting CEO.’Asked whether she was assaulted, the spokesperson said: ‘Yes. The incident happened.’She did not want to say whether she had laid charges with the police. ‘That information I keep to myself.’According to her, Tjaronda’s personal assistant, Elaine Claasen, ‘rescued’ her.When approached for comment, Tjaronda denied that she had assaulted Hangula-Paulino. ‘No, it’s not true. I’ve got a witness to corroborate what happened.’Tjaronda claimed that Hangula-Paulino was ‘the one who got aggressive. I did not attack her in any way.’The acting CEO said that Hangula-Paulino was suspended because of the incident.Claasen refused to comment. ‘I’m sorry, I’m not mandated to talk to the media.’
