France down Wallabies

MARSEILLES – Australia went down to their sixth successive defeat on Saturday as France eased home comfortable 26-16 victors in their one-off rugby test to extend the visitors’ worst losing run since 1969.

The French outscored the Wallabies by two tries to one – Cedric Heymans and Remy Martin with his first for his country while Jean-Baptiste Elissalde scored 13 points – and notched up 16 unanswered points in the second-half, before Drew Mitchell scored a consolation try in the last seconds, having led 10-9 at half-time.
