FoxyGinnah’s Sexy Swimwear Line

This is the season for fun in the sun and there is no better time to update your bikini collection, than now that Georgina ‘FoxyGinnah’ Kandjeke has released a new line of swimwear.

Gone are the days when Namibians had no other choice but to buy international brands. With talented creatives like FoxyGinnah churning out fresh new designs, we need look no further.

Those who follow her work will know that it has become the norm for her to release a new swimwear collection every December/January and right on time, FoxyGinnah’s new collection consists of several bikinis and monokinis – all suitable for a range of body types.

“I used emerald greens, bright oranges, nude tones, florals and striped prints. I did this because I always like to give the client options,” she said.

She’s always loved swimwear and is passionate about supporting the growth of the Namibian economy.

“I feel that there is a great need to make everything locally. It is time that Namibians produce, sell and support local entrepreneurs. By investing back into the country is the only way we can grow our economy,” said the 28-year-old.

The Rundu-born entrepreneur said while working on the collection she was faced with the challenge of sourcing the types of fabrics she wanted. However she was able to make magic with what was available.

She’s proud of the growth the sector has enjoyed lately and believes now is the perfect time for aspiring creatives.

“The support is incredible. If your product is good and you know how to market it then you can make it. There is definitely a lot of space for upcoming talented and creative designers. We have fashion weeks now and more shows. More designers are starting their own studios and doing ridiculously well. I can confidently say that the next few years are going to be great for the fashion industry, because the talent we have here is out of this world,” she said.

She inherited her love for designing from her grandfather and mother, and says she first got to grips with a sewing machine when she was 13 years old.

“My mom was always stitching and knitting and already at that time I knew that was what I wanted to do,” she said.

“Since I can remember I have enjoyed the process of designing. I adore picking out colours and fabrics. It is amazing making outfits and seeing the designs come alive. I really don’t see myself in any other sector,” she said.

When it comes to fashion, she certainly needs no introduction and everyone who’s anyone in fashion knows her name, but when she started out things were not that easy.

FoxyGinnah admits that her first collection was not well thought out. “I was just eager to launch, but I have definitely grown since then. My work speaks for itself now. Launching Foxxy has been life altering in so many positive ways for me,” she said.

A career highlight thus far has been winning the favourite designer award at the 2019 Simply You Magazine Lifestyle and Fashion Awards, which took place at the NamPower Convention Centre in Windhoek in August 2019.

“I can’t thank my clients, friends, family and supporters enough for the endless support. I am so grateful for the growth you are giving to my business. Thank you,” she said.
