Namibia, China aiming for deeper cooperation

National Assembly speaker Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila on Wednesday emphasised the need to deepen Namibia-China cooperation during a Chinese parliamentary delegation’s courtesy visit on Wednesday.

The delegation was headed by Zhu Yongxin, the vice chairperson of the national committee of the China People’s Political Consultative Conference.

It comprised members of China’s Communist Party and parliament, as well as China’s ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping.

The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Kuugongelwa-Amadhila on Wednesday said Namibia seeks to build on its longstanding relationship with China to advance mutual development, economic growth and prosperity for both nations, noting that the visit follows engagements with the Presidency, including meetings with vice president Lucia Witbooi and the National Council on Tuesday.
