Elisenheim Spar owner Gerrit Lambert took his life on Monday.
Police chief inspector Elifas Kuwinga in a statement said Lambert’s body was found alongside the C28 gravel road in the vicinity of farm Terra Rosa in the Khomas Hochland area.
His body was discovered by the farmowner and a farmworker.
“They came across the body of a man next to a vehicle,” Kuwinga said.
The owner of the farm notified the police.
No foul play is suspected and investigations continue.
In a Facebook post on the Elisenheim community page, residents expressed shock and sadness over Lambert’s death.
“Lambert was not only a respected businessman, but also a devoted family man, trusted friend, and valued member of the Elisenheim community. His leadership, humility, and dedication to service set a lasting example for all who had the privilege of knowing him,” one post reads.
The post says his presence in the store was a reflection of his character – steady, compassionate, and dependable.
“He served his community with quiet integrity and always placed the well-being of others at the heart of everything he did.”
