Kavango West, Otjozondjupa, Hardap and Oshana progressed to the semifinals of the Namibian Newspaper Cup after the final group matches were held in Otjiwarongo on Sunday.

Kavango West made sure of winning Group A when they beat Omaheke 1-0 on Sunday morning. 

That saw Kavango West topping the log on 7 points to book a semifinal spot, while Omaheke finished second on 4, with Oshikoto third on 3 and Kavango East fourth on 1 point. 

Otjozondjupa thumped Zambezi 3-0 in front of their jubilant fans to finish on top of Group B on 7 points. 

//Kharas beat Khomas 3-1, but it was not enough to progress, as they had to settle for second place on 6 points.

Hardap took the honours in Group C after beating Kunene 2-0 to finish top of the log on 6 points, with Kunene and Omusati well behind on 1 point each. 

Oshana comfortably won Group D on 6 points, while Erongo finished second on 3 points after beating Ohangwena 4-0. Ohangwena came last on zero points. 

In the semifinals on Monday morning, Kavango West will play //Kharas, while Otjozondjupa will play Oshana. 

The third place playoff and the final will take place in the afternoon.
