Woman found dead in Klein Windhoek

Delia Maasdorp

The body of Delia Maasdorp (40) was found wrapped and tied in blankets in her sitting room in Klein Windhoek on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Elifas Kuwinga says it is alleged that Maasdorp’s parents, who live at Swakopmund, reportedly tried to call and locate her on Friday, but her number was unreachable.

They requested one of her friends in Windhoek to check at her house and report the incident to the police. A missing person notice was then issued.

“The police accompanied the friend to the deceased’s flat and communicated with the Body Corporate, who opened one of the aluminum windows in order to enter the flat,” Kuwinga said.

Police also observed blood stains on one of the sofas.
Items including a blue BMW 3 series, flat screen television, a laptop and an iPhone were missing from the flat.

The body has been transported to the mortuary for further investigations.
