The trial of a former security company employee accused of murdering and robbing a colleague nearly 15 years ago is scheduled to continue in November after it was postponed in the Windhoek High Court on Tuesday.
The trial of Teodor Shipanga (49) is due to continue before judge Eileen Rakow from 2 to 13 November.
Shipanga is facing charges of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances and defeating or obstructing the course of justice, with the state alleging that he murdered a colleague, Shain van Wyk (22), on 11 November 2011 and also robbed Van Wyk by stealing about N$2.5 million and a cash-in-transit vehicle from him.
Van Wyk was killed when he was shot in the head with a shotgun while he and Shipanga were transporting cash from banks in northern Namibia to Windhoek.
His body was found hidden in a culvert under the B1 road between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo.
Rakow recorded pleas of not guilty on all three charges on behalf of Shipanga in June, after he protested repeatedly that he was not charged and was being prosecuted unconstitutionally.
