Boplaas Campsite reopens doors

Namibia Wildlife Resorts’ Boplaas Campsite has reopened its doors after closing temporarily for renovations in September last year.

The campsite, situated along the Orange River, reopened on 30 April.

“The closure of Boplaas was necessary to address increased security concerns and to expand the campsite’s facilities,” says Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) spokesperson Nelson Ashipala.

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism assisted with the implementation of additional security measures and constructed extra ablution blocks, he adds.

“Boplaas serves as a great stopover for those travelling from the Northern Cape and surrounding areas. Now, they can come and enjoy Namibia again with extra security. Fish River hikers can also stop over for some great rest before they tackle the canyon.”
