CYMOT and one of its main suppliers of green sport products, Campmor Outdoor, donated a mobile camp to AfriCat North, a project of the AfriCat Foundation, striving for the protection of lions in Namibia.
AfriCat North is located at Kamanjab in the Kunene region. The mobile camp consists of one 5×5 marquee tent and eight accommodation dome tents with camping mattresses, sleeping bags, chairs etc.In a statement, AfriCat North said since there is a dire need for the alleviation of human wildlife conflict in both commercial and communal communities, and the protection of the threatened lion, the support will enable the Foundation’s Recovery team to move quickly from one area to another, set up camp and dedicate sufficient time and energy to relocate lions. The team also train and advise communal and freehold farmers that are experiencing lion-related problems. Cymot and Campmor Outdoor said they were convinced that it would help with the conservation of the Namibian lion population and that results will be achieved in mitigating the farmer-lion conflict.
