12-year-old author inspires peers with ‘The Aliens’

At only 12 years old, Pionierspark Primary School pupil Jobina Shovaleka has published her first book, ‘The Aliens’, launched in Windhoek this week.

The story follows two girls who hear strange noises and make unexpected friends, drawing their teacher and a fellow student into the adventure.

Shovaleka says her aim was to encourage forgiveness and problem-solving among young readers.

“With the book I hope to inspire people and show that resolution is always an option,” she says.

She adds that writing the book was both fun and challenging.

“I want to inspire youngsters that they can also follow their dreams at a young age,” she adds.

Shovaleka believes Namibian children have the potential to achieve anything.

“If I can do it at 12, then anyone can start chasing their dreams,” she says.

‘The Aliens’ is published by Victoria Authors Self-Publishing Services.
