The police have recorded six cases of housebreaking across the country over the weekend.
This was revealed by national police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi in a police report released on Sunday.
In one incident, suspects allegedly broke into a bar at Onethindi on Friday night and stole a jackpot machine and cash valued at N$66 080.
The suspects allegedly gained entrance by cutting through the burglar bars of the window.
Shikwambi says no recoveries or arrests were made and investigations continue.
At Wanaheda, a suspect allegedly broke into a house at Okuryangava on Friday at around 15h40 and stole cellphones worth N$20 300.
“No recoveries or arrests were made and police investigation continues,” Shikwambi says.
On Saturday at Eros Primary School in Klein Windhoek at around 10h00, Shikwambi says unknown suspects allegedly broke into several offices and teachers’ rooms, stealing personal belongings and cash.
Shikwambi says the value of the items is unknown and that the suspects have not been arrested.
She says police investigation continues.
Similarly, an unknown suspect allegedly stole electronic devices and personal belongings at a bar at Ongwediva’s old location.
The police say the suspect broke the padlock of the burglar bar to gain entrance between 04h00 and 05h00 on Saturday.
“The items are valued at N$16 130,” the report reads.
No recoveries or arrests have been made and police investigation continues.
Two separate housebreaking incidents were also reported at Menias Brian Libuto in the Zambezi region on Saturday.
In one incident at a lodge in the Lizauli area, a suspect allegedly cut the window of a tent and stole cellphones, personal belongings, documents and cash.
The incident allegedly occurred between 02h00 and 03h00.
“Only the passports were recovered and no arrests were made,” she says.
In another incident in the Kongola area, suspects allegedly entered a complainant’s room and stole electronic and mobile communication devices valued at N$56 300.
No recoveries or arrests were made and investigation continues.
