Windhoek Fast Food Delivery Services Saints on Scooters

Whether you’re carless and too lazy to catch a cab or you’ve been struck by an epic babelas that has left you unable to speak, let alone drive, almost every Namibian has – at some or other point – wished that a fairy could drop in and deliver some kapana for you – hot off the rooster.

But we all know that “if wishes were horses, beggars would ride”. And if you wait for mythical creatures, you’d probably starve to death. Enter Windhoek Fast Food Delivery Services. They’re not fairies but they’re just about saints on scooters. For a nominal fee, they’ll deliver meat, junkies, salsa and whatever else you like with your kapana right to your front door. All you have to do is pick up a phone. (And they say dreams don’t come true!)

As if kapana to your doorstep isn’t enough of a pull, Windhoek Fast Food Delivery Services deliver food from any restaurant anywhere in Windhoek. So whether you’re jonesing for kapana, have a craving for KFC or you’ve been meaning to get some Chinese in your belly, they’ll deliver it.

Started by Gabriel Donpaolo, Mukiri Lukas and Frank Mowa, the company started as a bit of a pipe dream, but has been gaining momentum. Gabriel, who started off as a delivery guy for St Elmo’s Pizza, then Debonairs and Scooters, came up with the idea about two years ago but transport was their main hindrance as they didn’t have a loan and injected money into the business from their own pockets.

When Gabriel acquired his own scooter, Windhoek Fast Food Delivery Service got a much needed leg up after they landed a delivery contract with Scooters, who donated two scooters and the rest, as they say, is history.

“There’s a cheaper, better delivery service in Windhoek and we’re always trying to improve,” Gabriel said. For just N$35 (N$25 delivery fee plus N$10 labour fee), Windhoek Fast Food Delivery Services promise to deliver your meal within 45 minutes, although Gabriel admits that sometimes a lengthy waiting time is out of their hands. Despite this, if your food is not delivered in 45 minutes, you get N$10 off. “We don’t make food and we don’t touch it either, we just deliver,” Gabriel added.

I ordered N$50 kapana (which is their minimum order), junkies, N$10 salsa and a Coke and when Gabriel delivered my meal, the meat was still warm.

Just the service Windhoekers have been waiting for, Windhoek Fast Food Delivery Services are well worth a try, especially on days when you couldn’t be bothered to get out of your pyjamas.
