Wantenaar fifth in heat

RONAN Wantenaar finished fifth in his heat in the men’s 100m breaststroke at the Fina World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea on Sunday.

Wantenaar finished in a time of one minute 5,17 seconds which was also the 66th fastest time overall in the event.

Only the top 16 swimmers made it through to the semifinals, with Adam Peaty of Great Britain setting a new world record of 56,88 seconds in the second semifinal. He also won the final in a time of 57,14 seconds.
