Von Hase to lead RMB Namibia’s trade and treasury unit

RMB Namibia has brought in Tim von Hase to head its trade and treasury solutions team.

Von Hase assumed the position in May, putting him in charge of how the bank helps corporate clients handle their everyday cash flow, payments and international trade deals.

Group spokesperson Kirsty Watermeyer says: “The move comes at a time when local businesses are feeling the pressure to keep a tighter grip on their cash, fix supply chain headaches, and make their day-to-day capital stretch further.”

Von Hase moves over from FNB Namibia, where he served as retail credit head.

In that role, he oversaw the teams managing roughly half of the bank’s entire balance sheet.

Before that, he spent over 10 years moving through a mix of banking, consulting and industry roles.

He is an industrial engineer with a degree from Stellenbosch University, as well as qualifications in Lean Six Sigma and Agile management.

RMB Namibia chief executive Daniel Motinga notes that “the appointment is aimed at giving corporate clients practical, grounded help with the movement of money whether that’s funding expansion, managing everyday liquidity, or trading across borders.”

Speaking on his new role, Von Hase says his focus will be on delivering straight-talking, practical tools that cut through operational friction and help companies make better, faster decisions.
