THE Goethe-Institut Namibia’s upcoming edition of ‘Virtually Yours’ is set to feature renowned Zimbabwean author Sue Nyathi.
The online gathering, scheduled for Thursday, will provide a virtual platform for Nyathi, who currently resides in Johannesburg, South Africa, to discuss her latest work, ‘An Angel’s Demise’.
“‘An Angel’s Demise’ is a gripping tale infused with spirituality. It recounts an explosive story of love, war, bloody massacre and betrayal that encompasses a harrowing history, the cruel caprice of politics, gender-based violence and what happens when ordinary people get caught up in lies,” notes the Goethe-Institut Namibia.
Nyathi’s other novels are ‘The Polygamist’ (2012), ‘The Gold Diggers’ (2018) and ‘A Family Affair’ (2020). She recently edited an anthology titled ‘When Secrets Become Stories, Women Speak Out’ (2021), which is a compilation of non-fiction essays with a gender-based violence theme.
The virtual session is scheduled to run from 18h00 to 19h00 and registration is available through the Goethe-Institut’s website.
‘Virtually Yours’ serves as an online platform designed for ardent readers, authors, individuals in the literary field, African literature enthusiasts, and anyone interested in contemporary African literature. It aims to facilitate dialogues among these diverse groups, fostering a deeper appreciation for African literature. – unWrap.online
