Actor Malefetsane Fats Bookholane who died last weekend after a long illness will be buried at Roodepoort cemetery today. Bookholane, who played the role of Baba D in the SABC community health series ‘Soul City’, died at his home in Mofolo South, Soweto.
Born in New Brighton in Port Elizabeth in 1934, Bookholane came to Johannesburg in 1988. He is also remembered for his role in the film, ‘The Wild Geese’ in which he acted alongside his equally famous peers, John Kani and Winston Ntshona. Other movies he appeared in include Chikin Biznis, Mr Bones and Heartlines. He is survived by 15 children.- www.sowetanlive.co.za
