HAI//Om San traditional leader Dawid //Khamuxab (75) died after a long illness at Outjo District Hospital on Tuesday.
His nephew, Leon Aib, confirmed //Khamuxab’s death on Wednesday afternoon, saying the chief was the Hai//Om San traditional leader for the areas of Outjo, Oshivelo, Grootfontein, Otjiwarongo, Etosha, Verda, Toevlug, Nuchas, and Kotties government resettlement farms.
“His traditional headquarters were based at Seringkop government resettlement farm, north of Outjo, since his installation and recognition by the government in 2004,” Aib said.
At the time of his death, //Khamuxab served more than 20 000 Hai//Om San under his reign, he said.
The late chief leaves behind three daughters and two sons.
Funeral arrangements will be officially announced next week.
