Unam top as Magic and Nampol impress

The University of Namibia top the NFA Women Super League following their 13-0 demolition of Omaheke Ladies in the first round of the league played at the NFA Technical Centre in Windhoek on Saturday.

Four goals from Diina Shituula, two each from Ester Amukwaya and Ean Velikoshi and a goal each from Helena Amutana, Stacey Naris, Limba Mupetami and Johanna Ludgerus as well as an own goal by Omaheke ladies led the Unam Bokkies to a handsome 13-0 victory to guarantee top spot after the opening round of league action. Shituula ‘s four goals make her the leading scorer thus far.

Not to be outdone, Khomas Nampol also registered an impressive win, proving to have too much firepower for newcomers Java Java as they emphatically triumphed 11-0.

Nampol are second on the log, followed by Tura Magic Ladies, who posted a 10-0 whitewash of Poly Babes.

Boosted by their many Brave Gladiators stars such as Zenatha Coleman, Thomalina Adams and Lovisa Mulunga, Magic were superior in every department.

Magic got their goals through Mulunga, Elmarie Fredericks, Adams and Fransisca Hoabes, while Coleman and Memory Ngonda each helped themselves to hat tricks to get Magic off to a winning start.

In the opening match of the day, Galz Goals Elite Youth FC lost 3-1 to 21 Brigade and new kids on the block V-Power were humbled 3-1 by Okahandja Beauties, while the battle of the novices Rehoboth Queens and Windhoek City Girls ended with victory for the Hardap region side.

The second round of action starts on Thursday at the NFA Technical Centre when Galz Goals take-on Java Java at 15h30.

On Sunday, Khomas Nampol face 21 Brigade at the same venue from 08h40, with the action set to conclude with V-Power squaring-off against Tura Magic at 15h10.
