RAILWAY parastatal TransNamib unveiled its new brand on Wednesday in line with its new vision.
The company’s chief executive officer Johnny Smith during the launch in Windhoek said the new brand will be implemented in phases over the next five years.
He said the move was part of the company’s new vision of being ‘the preferred bulk transporter of Namibia’ and new mission ‘to ensure world class railway services and generate return on investment for our shareholder.’
Smith said the previous brand identity no longer accurately reflected the organisation’s strategic and expansive direction. He however added that it remains a valuable asset.
He said the new brand complements the company’s road-to-rail strategy that takes a clear focus on rail transportation, which is why the company changed the slogan from “Transporting Namibia’s Success” to a simple tagline: “Rail it!”
“When I see the logo, I automatically see simplicity, quality, robustness, innovation and a digital railway,” he said.
Smith said that the creative design was done in-house, at no cost to the company. He compared their cost effectiveness to a N$3million expense incurred by one of their sister state-owned enterprise companies for a similar brand design project.
Minister of works and transport John Mutorwa during the launch expressed satisfaction that TransNamib has realigned its focus to a more emphasised road-to-rail strategy.
